Calvin Miller is an Agriculture Finance and Investment professional with 40 years of experience in the sector. His experience includes both higher-level policy and technical work and on-the-ground fieldwork as a farmer, an agricultural economist and rural finance expert and in program design and management.
Calvin was Group Leader and Senior Officer of Agribusiness and Finance at FAO, UN in Rome until retiring in late 2015. He served as the Country Manager of Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) in Bolivia and in MEDA’s Trade and Consulting Group in USA and Canada. Calvin was also a Director at CARE for agricultural, finance and small enterprise development and has remained active in investment funds for agriculture and microfinance, including founding MIcroVest in 2004.
MicroVest provides investment advisory services to private investment funds and other investors, which in turn provide debt capital to Responsible Financial Institutions or “RFIs” that serve micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in emerging and frontier markets.
